It’s A Christmas Carol – but not as we know it…
Meet Scrooge, the heartless owner of Scrooge’s Plastic Factory. He hates Christmas, loves money, and – worst of all – he couldn’t care less about the environment. When he’s challenged to be more eco-aware, he declares: It’s all HUMBUG!
The feisty Protestors can’t stop Scrooge’s plans to destroy the local woodland, and nor can a ghostly appearance from his late partner, Marley. So it’s over to the Christmas Spirits…
There’s the Spirit of Christmas Past, who shows us young Ebenezer Scrooge playing with his friends in the idyllic Hazel Wood; then there’s Christmas Present – a joyful party in the Cratchit household, interrupted by the grim command to cut down Hazel Wood. Finally, the spirit of Christmas Yet to Come shows Scrooge the shocking consequences of his actions.
“Is it too late?’” – when Scrooge wakes on Christmas Day he’s a changed man. The Cratchits’ party turns into a celebration of hope and determination to make a better future.
And, of course, Hazel Wood is saved.
