A musical for Key Stage 2 (ages 7-11)
30 speaking parts (flexible)
Running time 45 minutes
Shakespeare’s classic comedy, in a fresh, lively version that’s accessible and fun for primary aged children.
Set in a forest outside Athens, it’s a twisting tale of four confused and argumentative lovers, a group of temperamental fairies, and a gang of rowdy workmen who are trying to rehearse their own play. Oberon, king of the Fairies, sends his hare-brained servant, Puck, to enchant the Queen, Titania. While he’s about it, he may as well enchant the Athenian lovers, too. What could possibly go wrong?
Packed with colourful characters, from feisty Hermia to foolish Bottom, this show makes a fantastic introduction to Shakespeare. The script, carefully edited and adapted to include 30 speaking parts, is partly in modern English, but we have kept plenty of Shakespeare’s glorious language for your young cast to experience.
Have just performed Midsummer Night's Dream and felt I had to write to tell you how great it was. KS2 parents and children alike absolutely loved it.
A geat introduction to our Shakespeare week .
Great songs and a good mix of modern and Shakespearean language.

Thank you for a fantastic show for our Y6 Leavers production.
So far, we have had 'best ever', and 'absolutely fantastic', and that's just after the dress rehearsal!
The children have loved it, and as directors, my colleague and I have just had such a good time putting the comedy snippets in.
